What Are Full Arch Dental Implants?

The full arch dental implant procedure – often referred to as ‘All-on-4®’, ‘teeth in a day’, ‘same day teeth’ or the ‘same day smile‘- is a hugely popular solution that can permanently replace an entire arch of teeth – either upper or lower. The initial procedure is completed within the day, meaning you leave the clinic with a set of fixed teeth.

Using this technique means that it only takes 4 – 6 dental implants to support an entire arch of teeth (instead of the usual 8-10 implants).

Full arch dental implants are the ultimate alternative to dentures and also provide an ideal solution for patients whose teeth are missing or failing. As they don’t require conventional bone grafting, they are even suitable for people who’ve been told they can’t have traditional implants. The main implant surgery can take place under local anaesthetic in just one day.

Once the dental implants are placed our on-site laboratory technician with craft a fixed bridge that will attach to the dental implants giving you fixed teeth in a day.

Before the appointment you will have had a chance to discuss the aesthetic result of your new smile too!

Who Cannot Have Teeth In A Day?

Same day teeth or teeth in a day are suitable for most adults who are in good general health and have healthy gums. They aren’t suitable for children and young people under 18 because the underlying bones are still growing.

There are some reasons Same Day Teeth may not be suitable:

  • If you are smoker
  • If you have had radiotherapy to your jaw area
  • If you have diabetes which isn’t well-controlled
  • If you suffer with gum (periodontal) disease

However, each case is different. We will assess any medical problems you have, and let you know if full arch dental implants are an option for you.
